Hey......In 2001, Uncle Ben gave me two of Chad's bearded dragons to give to Ethan. We went up on the upstairs area which is now Malo Mariposa upstairs. Chad got those bearded dragons back in 1994. Anyway, the last one died today......Just remember the days of the snake feedings at the News and Chronicles. Bringing home crickets, etc. Anyway, I thought that really cool that that dragon lived that long and has a lot of history along with it. Love, Blair

Hello everyone! Hey Maw, I am good either way. You know I just want a healthy baby. I hope that everyone over there is doing good and taking it easy. I asked James if he had played that Rawls golf course in Lubbock and he said that Gary Lee said he wasnt good enough to play there yet...........due to the high expense of it. :)
I dont know if I am good enough either, but I will play it anyways! I tell you what, I cant wait until football season because like always the Rangers suck and nothing really to watch in sports. I know that is a delima for the women! Well, take care and I love you guys! Jared

To Blair, congrad's on finishing that fitness training thingy!! Also, we will remember you regarding the house of your dreams. That would be so wonderful! Jared and Betsy, read your blog and you both have expressed yourself so well. Jared, I'm not sure "everyone" would like a girl better. Hey Family
Happy Anniversary to James and Shavonne! I can't believe it has been 4 years either. Times seems to just fly by.Jason flew out yesterday to visit with all of us. He is with Ryan right now but will try to get him around to see everyone Sunday maybe. He will be here until Tuesday. It has been 6 years since we had seen him when he was 14 and now he is 20. He is a handsome young man! I am all alone at the office one again. My helper Robbi is moving to Snyder this weekend. It has been so slow and quite, only one person in all morning and it is noon time. Hope I don't start talking to myself. We are so thrilled for Betsy and Jared and love your new web site Betsy. This way I can keep up with everything. Blair has done such a wonderful thing to keep us all in touch. Way to go Blair.Hoping everyone has a great weekend. Maw

Hello Everyone
My new job makes it impossible for me to blog during the day so I have to do it at home. So I have finally worked up the energy to do it after work. I am feeling mainly pretty good. The loss of energy is what is really getting to me. I was running 2-3 miles every other day before and in the early stages (before I knew I was pregnant) and now exercise is the furthest thing from my mind. But I feel very blessed because everyday I feel yucky I know that baby is growing the way he/she should. Jared is taking really good care of me. He cleaned our whole house by the time I got up on Sunday! It sounds like everyone is keeping busy. Should find out about the girl/boy situation sometime in September. So exciting! Please continue to pray for our little family.

Sounds like all the ft Worth bunch had a great weekend with James, Shavonne and Brock. Wish we all could have been there! To them, I am so sorry about your doggy. That is so sad. I had a call from Jason last night and it was so good to talk to him, he is so happy and up-beat. He wanted your phone number, Blair, so you will proably get a call from him. He is in Arlington near Six Flags (sound familiar?) Going today to get Flower's 3rd round of shots and take Ryan to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned, drop Papa off at Cecil's while I do all that. He is getting to where he really does not want to drive in Lubbock any more, so will be a busy day. After tomorrow, I will be at the office by myself again. My helper is moving to Snyder this weekend and Terry is not going to fill the job. Business is so slow all over town. We sit and wish for the phone to ring or someone to come in. Wilma called me and said Ella's granddaughter, Nicole is having her second baby 27th at Lubbock so Deneice is driving Ella up for that. Doctor will not allow Ella to drive anymore because she kept getting lost with her Alzheimer progressing. She was telling me that Darlia has 4 kids, 2 girls and then twin boys little over a year old. Hey Blair! Thank you again for letting the three of us crash at your place, it's always such a pleasure!!! It feels too much like home for James and I. I just wish the weekend wouldn't have been so hectic, it seems like the only time we get to go that way and stay is when we have such a crazy hectic schedule.
As always, we enjoyed getting to see everyone and hang out. Mike and Eletia, thank you for the yummy lunch. Mr. Caden, you are too precious for loving Brock so much and sharing your toys with him, and Toby I never thought I'd meet any baby that smiled as much as Brock but you're giving him a good run!!! Anywho, we made it back in time for us to go grocery shopping for the week, relax a bit, and then it was off to work for the evening. I'm STILL having a hard time getting adjusted to this schedule, you'd think by now I'd have the hang of it. Oh well, such is life.

Hey all, hope your having a great weekend. We are having a blast hosting James and his crew. We have had fun this weekend. They are at a wedding right now, and I updated the web with some new pics of this weekend. We are all going to eat out for their last night here. Brock is so precious. I have loved watching him with Caden and Toby. We just love having them here. Jay and I hope to have a house soon and we can have even more fun when people come around.

Hey guys! I would like to clear the air with our future kids name. I called my mother and told her that if it is a boy his name would be Jared Jr. (hince JJ), but we are not going to call him that. We are going to call him (if it is a him) by Blaine. My mom told me that I explained it wrong to her, but oh well. People always have a hard time understanding me! :)
Anyways, Kate/Cate Elizabeth is the girls name and that one we agreed on right away. You can call him Blaine, JJ, JB, I personally dont care. Now that is settled! :)
I appreciate all of you on your concerns for my Bets and we are hoping to possibly have a baby shower down that way if someone would be a host???? Please not everyone at once! :) Just Kidding! I saw the pictures of Boston and that little fart is getting big. Gary is looking old just like Dad! hahahahaha!!!!

Jared and Betsy, how wonderful is it to hear the heartbeat for the first time! Betsy hope you are feeling better. It will pass before you know it. Eletia we will be praying for you as you go through another surgery. All you Gowens' don't steal all my sweet sugar from Brock Allen. He is such a delightful baby you can't resist loving him. Blair and Jay thanks so much for sharing your home with my kids. They love all of you so much and really enjoy visiting with all of you. Wish it would work out for Gary and I to come sometime soon.

Good to hear from everyone on the blog. Eletia, I know first hand how Caden is in the early morning. Wish I was there to help hold him and settle him down a little. He has always had such a rough time with his skin and hates to be still to put on the lotions and ointments, poor little guy. Hope he will outgrow it some day ???Sorry Toby has a cold. Hope he is not getting allergies too. Blair, we drove around town Sat and the garage sales seemed to be going good. Boston did good downtown in front of the Mariposa, selling some of his old toys. He had a ziplock bag half full of money. Ha Susan said Gary ran into Jody Gowens at a ballgame in San Angelo, walked up to him and said, I'm Gary Gowens, your cousin. Jody looked up and said, Where's Susan. He always loved Susan so much. He looked good and ask about me and J W. Blair, you and Jay are getting so good on your web site! Keep up the good work. Hey Gowens! I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers for Betsy and I. She is feeling good somedays and really bad others. Overall we are very happy to be pregnant, but somedays Betsy would disagree! :) She is not showing yet, but probably in the next month or two. I hope that everyone is doing well and we love you guys. We will get the sonograms pictures to Blair to put on the web. We saw the babies heartbeat this past Friday, and of course it was great to see it. God is amazing! Love Jared & Betsy!

Good morning everyone. If I am blogging you know it is early. Having my cup of coffee and getting all caught up on the blog.
Caden woke me up real early this morning needing something to eat and he was having trouble with his allegies so we had to put on his allergy cream and his eucerin cream. Toby then woke up and he has had a cold and needed to eat and get some yuck out of his lungs. It is so hard for little ones to be sick and not feel good.
This was Mikes weekend for being on call and sure enough he has been pretty busy.
The picuture of your guys and gals was so good Kittie, you need to have it blown up. But you needed to be in it.
The picture of Brock was cute also on the flag. Boy does it bring back lots of memories.
Betsy is doing pretty good, she per Jared has good day then a yucky feeling day. They went to the doctor last Thursday and got to hear the hear beat and see (JJ??? and or Kate). Can hardly wait.

Hey Blair! Thanks for posting the picture of Brock on the flag, James and Gary Lee were so excited to get to continue the tradition with another Gowens boy!!! I think James had been waiting to do that since they took Stormy's picture years ago!
Yep, we're still planning on heading your way on Saturday morning, the 21st. We would come down of Friday but I have to work, so I'm sure we'll head out of here Saturday whenever Brock gets me up for his morning feeding which will probably be between 6 and 7 ish. I'm so excite to get to see everyone and FINALLY meet Mr Toby Britches! I bet he's already so big!!!
Family picture wise we don't have anything or I'd send them, most of te stuff we have or get goes on Brock's webpage. Half of the time we tend to forget in all the hussle of getting things together and loaded for a quick weekend trip.

Hey Family
I just checked out the guys mini vacation at Lake Brownwood and I must say it looked like a wonderful time. I know Artie gave lots of fishing lessons to Mike and Gary so you younger guys don't stand much of a chance, Ha. She would have loved to have been there with you and she would have fished all night, they bite better at night she would say. Anyway, nice catch and looks like all got a good rest away from daily routine and etc. I am very happy for all of you.
Bear, I hope the web page does not die out but I know it was time for a change. I will check around and see what I might could offer you. Cute about Ralls, but do we really want to be like them???Naw. Love to all, Maw

Enjoyed your updates Eletia on your family. Sounds like you and April have the "little" boys by yourself this weekend. Sure glad your scope test was a good report. I'm not sure what this surgery is for Aug 8???Did you tell me and I forgot??My brain is usually on overload seems like.
We have had a quite and peaceful weekend. J W is still dealing with the shingles and most likely will for a month (according to Dr. Alley) He is dizzy a lot and not able to do much physically any more.Hope the rains have stopped for the Ft Worth area, enough is enough. It is getting dry here and the farmers are needing a rain now, can you believe? Glad Betsy is not feeling too bad. We are so excited for them. It will be exciting when they can tell what the baby is, boy or girl. I would love it if it were a girl because of the name they have picked out, selfish, eh? What ever, I just pray it is a wonderful, healthy baby and all goes good for them. Maggie was suppose to be back home yesterday so need to check up on her and stories about her trip. Guess Peggy's company has gone back to Calif ?Susan was telling me that James's dog got killed last weekend when they were on the way home. A woman called him on his cell to tell him about the accident. Sorry James...Not much on for today so guess I'll try to quilt a little while on one of the quilts I am trying to finish up, out of one of mother's dresses. I have one more to do after this one. I am so pleased with them all. Hoping everyone has a good weekend. So glad for the "big" boys at Ft.Worth to get to go on their trip. Love to all, Maw

Sat morning.
Sitting here as usual, drinking my cup of coffee and just having my time to myself and thought I would drop note to let you know whats up in FT Worth.
I had my regular scope for the year yesterday. Everything was fine, as usual there was polys to be removed and so they were.
Mike, Jared, Blair and Jay all have gone to Lake Brownwood for a 3 day fishing and fun trip. Mike was just like a little kid. He took me for my scope and just about threw me out of the car and was gone. Hope they have a good and restful time. They all 4 could use it. Glad they are able to spend some quality time together.
I am scheduled to have surgery Aug 8th. I will be out of work for 3-6 weeks. Hopefully things go great and only the 3 weeks.
April, Caden and Toby are doing real good. Zac has had to work most of the time and havent seen a lot of him lately. His schedule has changed since he is off probabtion and he is still working at Benbrook parttime.
Jared and Betsy of course are really excited and as Betsy said "She still cant believe it." She looks really good and says she has some sicky days but most are good.
Blair and Jay, are well and work, work, work, or work out. Blair has had some long days and weekends lately, taking classes and instructional classes for more designations.
Hope all you guys are well and doing good. I know your lives are busy and furious also.

Hey Family
Gosh, Eletia, how terrible what you went thru. Did you have your cell phone??I'm sure I would have panic big time sitting there in my car by myself and not knowing what was going to happen. Praise the Lord, you were able to finally get out of it!!!!We see on the news everyday where ya'll are still having rain. It was bad when we were there but it seems it got a lot worse. Hope everyone else there has been able to make it to work and etc. Those freeways are murder when it is raining (I found out that Sat going to Granbury) I think of you guys having to drive in that daily. Hope everyone had a good 4th. J W and I did nothing, which was okay. Kittie brought us a big bowl of homemade ice cream last night. Sure was good!!!Well it is back to work this morning, another Monday on a Thursday, Ha.Everyone take care and be safe!!I saw a pic of a little dog in the newspaper this morning all decked out for the 4th and it's name was "Bear Bear". How cute is that??Love, Maw

Hope everyone had a nice holiday. My blogger has been down again and today Jay came over and fixed her againe. About every other month I have to have him come over and fix it. Glad to hear all are doing so good. We have been so so so wet. Yesterday it took me 3 hours to find a way home and the traffice was abosolutely horrific. I have never ever been in such a mess in all my life. I literally sat at a place where I could not go forward or backward and watched the water keep rising. All I could think of was, I guess I will just have to get out and run for higher ground, but then I kept thinking. I cant swim. Then finally they made everyone back up so I got to back up and get out of the rising water. It was quite scarry for me. I have been putting in extra hours at work, contest going on and money is involved so I have worked a lot lately.
Excited for Maggie and her trip, hope all went real well. Maw so glad you got to visit with James, Shavonne & Brock, Jill, Brandon and Stormy. Hey Family
Had a busy weekend getting Ryan moved into his very own apartment in Lubbock. He is very excited so we are very happy for him even tho the house is really quite now. (empty nest) Happy Anniversary to Gary Dale and Kittie, 31 years today. That was my first empty nest and I cried for days, now another empty nest, 31 years later. Anyway I have been very blessed in my life with all of my children. Got to see James, Shavonne and Brock Sunday morning at Gary & Susan's and then came Jill, Brandon, Stormy and they doggies. Peggy has Sandy and Don here from Calif but I have not seen them yet. Hope everyone has a great July 4th!!!!
