Hey...Just wanted to say I hope everyone has a good holiday weekend...even though some are going to be working hard moving...but the end result will be so wonderful...

Betsy, I love reading your blog...I really have not had the privilege of getting to know you very well since ya'll live so far away but I must say, I can see why Jared loves you so much...and the new baby will be so blessed to have two such loving parents...Keep up the good work...

Hey, Blair THANKS for the "smoking" body!!!! WOW, where can I really get that done?!?!? I can remember 100 years ago when I really could dress like that and DIDN'T!!!! Man if I knew then what I know now I might have strutted my "stuff" just a little more!!! hahaha....
love to all,
kittie
Hey Family......Well we moving tomorrow.....That means website won't be updated for several days....Please keep talking.....Love you all.....Help me keep the flame going while I can't update....Love, Blair
Blair & Jay, way to go, closing on your house. Thanks for the new address and phone number.I "will" you to have all the power, strength, ambition, super drive and whatever else it takes to get moved this weekend. I can feel your excitement! Did April & Zac's move get delayed? If they do get to move also, I certainly wish them the very same things. I realize you will be taking your computers down for the move but anyway, here are my wishes for you. J W is no better and they have not called him with the test results yet. He is completely worn out and me too. Maybe we will find out something today however I know that won't be a magic thing to take away the pain.

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BOSTON TODAY!! WE ALL LOVE YOU LITTLE MAN AND HOPE YOU ARE MEETING SOME NEW FRIENDS IN YOUR NEW SCHOOL. SORRY WE CAN NOT MAKE YOUR BD PARTY TONIGHT BUT SENDING YOU A HUG AND ASK THAT YOU EAT A PIECE OF CAKE FOR US.

Hoping everyone has a really great weekend. Eletia try to get rest these next 3 days.
Glad you are doing so good. Hoping James, Shavonne and Brock are well by now. They have had a rough week too. This seems like the last day of summer with Sept 1 being tomorrow. Got to get to work, so later.....Maw

Hey everyone! Brock and I are here at home, he's been out of school all week due to a virus. . .fun fun so I thought I'd check in to see how the family was doing.
Maw, I'll be praying for J.W. I know how it is to have a shoulder injury, while I was playing volleyball in high school I dislocated mine and it hasn't ever fully healed.
Betsy, I'll be sure to keep the three families from your blog in my prayers as well. I hope you are feeling well, I'm sure these hot summer months are no fun as you and the baby continue to grow!!! I know I've already told you this, but I really enjoy reading your blog and I'd love to see some belly shots (even if there is very little belly to see- if that's not too much of a personal request!!!)
Blair and Jay~ we'll be thinking about you this weekend as you move into your new home, please be sure to e-mail us the address because we are going to to have to start getting Brock's 1 year birthday organized and we can't send an invitation without an address!
Hope everyone is doing well! We thought about traveling to Crosbyton this weekend but with Brock and I getting this virus we decided it'd be better not too. We'd hate getting anyone else sick, and to be perfectly honest I think it's best if we stay home and rest from all this. Sending you all our love!
God Bless,
James, Shavonne, and Brock

Hey Family
Had a really terrible weekend with J W's shoulder. He has been in so much pain. Can't dress himself, etc. Took him to Lubbock yesterday morning for the cat scan and today he is to have an MRI. From all I have pulled up on the internet, he must have an injury (?) to his rotator (sp?) cuff in the shoulder. Other people I have talked to that have had the condition tell me that it is very very painful and very slow to heal (tendons)Doctor gave him some pain pills last week but he got no rest at all Sat night (or me either) so same thing coming up on Sunday night so I took him back to ER so see if they could give him something stronger. They did not have any meds in stock that he could tolerate so doctor told him to double up on the pain pills and take 2 every 6 hours instead of 1 every 8 hours. Wish we had done that Sat night, oh me....Anyway maybe they can see what the problem is after MRI today but I'm sure not much can be done about it other than time to heal. We are both pretty worn out.
Eletia, hope you are strong enough to go back to work tomorrow. You have been in our thought and prayers and we are hoping for a good recovery for you. Guess you will have Monday off so that will give you another good day off. Stay out of the moving process with the kids!!!I know they are excited and they will make it fine. Did not know for sure when April & Zac are moving but understood that Blair & Jay are moving this weekend. School got started here so maybe things will get back to normal business wise. It has been a really slow summer.Kittie came and mowed our yard last night but haven't seen anyone else..Got to get to work. Love, Maw

Hey,

Eletia, I am so glad to hear that you are slowly doing better...Just don't over do it this next week with everyone getting ready to move...I am just so happy for all of you...

Hope everyone else in the family is well...

love,
kittie
Good Morning to everyone.

It has been a long, but short 3 weeks for me. I go back to work Wednesday. I guess I am ready. I did make it through the 2 weeks of liquids and am now on the mussy foods for two weeks. I still am a little weak at times. This surgery sure did hit me kind of hard, but doing real good.

Sorry to hear that JW is having some health problems. Hope they get straightened out soon.

The pictures of the Maggie & Kraigs wedding were sure good and as usual Maggie looked so pretty. Hey, so did everyone else in the pictures. It looked like it was a very pretty and special wedding, as I knew Kittie would make it so.

Next weekend starts a busy and new time for Blair, Jay, April, Zac, Caden and Toby. It will be nice for them all. I know they all are looking forward to having a home of their own.

Toby has been sick since Thursday and has had high temperature and just in general felt horrible. So congested with other end having problems also. After visit to doctor and medicine he is feeling a little better now.

School starts tomorrow, wow, the summer was so short.

Well, will go for now and hope to see you guys sometime real soon.

Love to all. Eletia

Hey Maw....Yeah our house is real close to my parents house. It is on the other side of Trinity. So, it's Hurst, but also Fort Worth. I know weird huh? We are getting very excited. This weekend is the box up weekend on most stuff. Unfortunately, moved several times in my life, and kind of a pro at it now. Hehehe. But hopefully this move will be permanent, or least many years. Anyone is welcome to come and see us, stay a while.

That's sad about flower shop? That's true, what about when there are funerals, weddings, etc. Maybe you all could make a suggestion to Lowe's Grocery to store to stock flowers.

Aunt Peg, you're making chow chow...Yummy. I know Susan said her and Gary were doing that last weekend. Yummy! Save some for me. If ya'll are making it like Grandma Artie used too then please please save some for me.

I hope Papa J gets to feeling better real soon. Tell him hi and that Fort Worth bunch is thinking about him.

Boston, good luck at your new school next week. Maggie and Kraig congrats again.

Love everybody,
Blair
Hey Family
Here it is Friday again. I do not know where the time goes???Blair & Jay, I know you are so excited about your new home. The address shows Hurst. Is that closer to Mike & Eletia?? Just wondered. J W is having a lot of pain in his left shoulder and side (where he had the surgery last year). He has been to the doctor everyday this week except Tuesday. Dr. Allen has him scheduled for MRI on Tuesday and then C-scan after that. He said he will get him set up with a "pain" doctor after they see what is going on. X-ray's yesterday indicated scar tissue building up from the surgery last year. Anyway he is on pain pills and muscle relaxant pills but they are not helping, very little. Anyway that is our goal for now is to try to get him pain free. Things at the office have been very slow. School starts Monday so maybe things will get back to normal. The little flower shop we had has shut down now.Don't believe they have one in Ralls either so don't know what one would do if one needed flowers?? Go to Lubbock I guess.Peggy is making chow chow and canning blackeyed peas as well as freezing some, um um. Got to get to work so catch everyone later...Maw

Thanks Aunt Kittie for thinkin' about us.......Yeah can't wait to move in. Only 1 more week. Now, I can finally have a home that I can have family over and spoil rotten. Love Blair

It's Friday!!! Hi everyone, just wanted to stop in to send love and prayers to you all. We are doing well, just busy busy busy! Between work, still trying for a teaching job, Ama-hood (motherhood), and just life in general it's been hectic. I've even gotten behind on Brock's webpage. . .but I recently added new pictures so for anyone who would like to see the Little Man, they are there.

Hope everyone is doing well, have a great weekend.

God Bless,
James, Shavonne, and Brock

***Betsy, keep on blogging!!! I really enjoy reading how your day or even your week is going. I think about you often and wonder how you, Jared, and the baby are doing. It's amazing how things will change during your pregancy, you never know what's next. That's the joy of it all, God blesses you each day with a new emotion and it seems like only you and your child will understand!***
Best Wishes to Maggie and Kraig today on your Wedding Day. I know Boston will love being in Lubbock and going to his new school. Judy got a teaching job in Friendship School District. She will be teaching 5th and 6th grade English. Peg, Gary, and I made Artie's "Chow Chow" last night. It turned out great and I know she was supervising us! Eletia, hope you are feeling better and make that Mike wait on you hand and foot. Blair, of course it's a given the web site is GREAT. Jared and Betsy hope everything is going well and ya'll can just settle back and enjoy waiting for the big day. April, hope you and your family are all doing fine. We really need to see that little Toby before he's grown! Love to all and have a great weekend. Susan
Hi Gowens crew!
I know this is crashing with me adding a post over here, but after all, I could be a sister since I've been Kittie's friend since we were 5?

Just wanted to add my congratulations to you again Maggie! It was wonderful seeing you in person and getting to chat. Mark and I are thrilled for you, Kraig, and Boston. We hope your day is extra special and we'll be thinking of you all!

Maybe sometime you can get that mom & dad of yours to come see me? We would love that!

All the best,
Tressie

Hey Family
This is proving to be a crazy week, hope not for everyone. Blair, I'm sure ya'll are enjoying Bailey. Her pics were so cute. I remember how Kittie always wanted a horse when she was a little girl. Her daddy always told her he would buy her 5,000 black stallions. She would cry and say, I only want one. Of course she never even got the one.....Maggie came over last night and told us some about Allison's wedding & etc. She said Allison could speak Spanish great! I'm sure it was a fun time for all. I am getting to hem Maggie's dress and Kraig's pants for their wedding Friday. Maggie is so excited, she has that special glow about her. Maybe when summer is over everyone will get back on the blog. Seems we don't hear too much anymore. Eletia, we sure hope you are doing great. I'm sure it is a slow healing process. Just don't let Caden and Toby romp on you too much. I'm sure Mike is taking good care of you. (He better be).I am trying to get some ideas about the baby quilts but will have to wait until I know if it is pink or blue, ha. I remember when Blair was born, I was sitting in the waiting room staring at the pink light and then at the blue light, seemed like forever when finally the blue one came on and shocked me out of my stupor.Guess I forgot why I was staring at them.Sorry, Maw is getting crazy..Love to all and enjoy what is left of the week.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Hey,

Just wanted to say I enjoyed Bailey's page!! And also Allison's wedding pictures. Maggie said it was a really nice wedding and that Allison was just beautiful...and OMG how the boys have grown!!
Well we are on the countdown to Maggie and Kraig's day...so it is busy, busy, busy...I was pretty overwhelmed in the beginning by not having but just over a week to prepare, but then I thought, oh well, I can either plan and worry for several months or just for over one week...
Eletia, how are you?? I hope you are doing well!!
love to all,
kittie

Hey Family
Hoping Eletia is reating and re-coping at home now. Mike said she was going home Friday. Guess lots of the family were in Denver yesterday with Allison and Jorge. I do know that Maggie and April Granada drove up there as well as the ones flying from South Texas. I'm sure they all enjoyed it. Sunday morning are wonderful, slow pace and peaceful. Just cooked J W 's breakfast and now will get ready for church. Maybe get to see James , Shavonne and Brock before they head home. We are certainly in the dog days of summer now, near 100 everyday.Everyone take care and enjoy this day.
Love, Maw

Hey family,

Thank you Shavonne and Betsy for your sweet words of encouragement. Like I said, I knew that this was coming but you are never really ready to let your "kid" go...Maggie, bless her heart, has had such a hard time the past few years trying to deal with everything that has happened to her...No one will ever know, even me, how it has been for her to have a child at 16 years old and then to lose your husband to such a tragic accident...anyway, I have prayed for her everyday that she would find true happiness and be able to come to grips with everything that has happened to her and I believe that Kraig has been a Godsent....He is so patient, kind and understanding about what Maggie has been thru....If anyone in the world knows Maggie, it is Kraig.....She loves Boston so much and it has been so hard for her to not be with him everyday and she also understands now how hard it will be for me and Gary to not see him everyday....Boston is actually a very lucky guy that he is loved so much!!! I know that everything will work out the way that God has planned...
I love you all so much and thank you so much for your love and support...
kittie
Hello Everyone!
Jared has told me all of the exciting news. Congratulations to Maggie and her new husband to beon their marriage and the new baby. Kittie I will be thinking about you as Boston leaves. I know that will be so hard for you.
Shavonne- I just wanted to tell you I do remember that night we talked the whole time about pregnancy and family. I remember thinking about how much you knew and how much I didn't but you learn pretty quick right? i really enjoyed getting to see you this past time at Jared's parents. Brock is a wonderful boy. And you look like you are having so much fun being a Mom. Very inspirational. Tomorrow we go back to the Dr and I feel so blessed to have come this far. Pregnancy really is an amazing thing and it's so amazing to share with the people you love. God is so good! Take care everyone and please check out our blog often!
Betsy
So thankful to hear Eletia's surgery went well. I hope she is recovering nicely, it's always rough to go through any surgery so don't overdue it.

We are going to be heading to Lubbock/Crosbyton this weekend for Miss Madeline's (my sister's little girl) 2nd birthday party! So we'll be running from here to there to make sure we visit everyone. We aren't going to Crosbyton until Sunday so we'll only be there for the day since Gary and Susan were here last weekend. But of course we need to get our Stormy "fix" and we'd like to see everyone else!!! You know how it is when there are children involved, it's all about them (the way it should be)!!!

Kittie, hang in there things will work themselves out! I know it must be hard knowing Boston is moving out, but his little brother/sister will need him there to help him/her grow! Just know that we'll be praying for strength for you and Gary Dale.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!! I'm sure ours will be great, just busy-busy-busy!!!

God Bless,
James, Shavonne, and Brock Allen

Hey Everybody.....Eletia's surgery went well. They did a sleeve surgery. This is a new surgery where they only take out part of the stomach. They also removed her lap band and took out some scar tissue. She was in a little pain this afternoon and this evening, but she will be up walking on later tonight. Thanks everybody for your prayers. We have such an awesome family. Hopefully she will be out of the hospital in about 3 days. I'm proud of my Mom. I really feel this is the step she needed to help her out. I see in her eyes and hear it in her voice. My Dad is taking off several days to be with her. He is doing so good too. Love all!! Blair
Eletia,

I heard your surgery went well....Hope you will be home soon and feeling much better...

love,
kittie

Tuesday, August 7, 2007

Maggie & Kraig, congratulations. Very excited for all of you. I know your family will be very blessed.

Kittie & Gary, I do feel your heart ache and your excitement. I will be going through the same emotions here shortly, as April, Zac, Caden and Toby are planning for their new home. But they will just be a few houses down. If everything goes ok they are buying Jared and Betsy's home down the street in just a few weeks.
Hopefully Blair and Jay will just be a few houses from us soon also.

It is exciting having all the new additions to our family. We will have to have a big family reunion with all of the little one there.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes for tomorrow. I feel that everything will be good and be home soon and back to the old grind stone within a few short weeks.

Mike is getting to take off with me, so I feel good about that.

Love to you all.

Eletia
Hey Gowens Crew!!! I guess that shows me for being away from the blog for too long, all this news popping up. Congratulations Kraig, Maggie, and Boston!!! Babies are such a blessing!

Jared and Betsy, I love your webpage!!! I love getting on and reading how the two of you are doing, especially you Betsy. I am facinated with the blessing of pregnancy and I love reading what you think as well. I'm not sure if you remember last summer when ya'll were in Crosbyton while I was pregnant and you and I talked almost all night at the Mariposa party, but ever since that conversation I feel like you and I are so much alike. I enjoy reading about your emotions and thoughts on your pregnancy because I went through alot of the same things. I just know in my heart that you and Jared are going to LOVE being parents and are just going to feel your child with so much love!!! I really am SOOOO excited for you!

Eletia, thoughts and prayers sent your way! We'll be waiting to hear an update from Blair as soon as he can update us.

Everyone else. . .hope you all are doing well. The heat has hit us here in San Angelo, summer is upon us. BLAH!!! Alright, peace and prayers sent to you ALL!!!
God Bless,
James, Shavonne, and Brock
Jared, thank you so much for the beautiful prayer....and Mother I know that you know what I am going through...thanks for being my shoulder to cry on!!!
As far as the wedding, Maggie and Kraig want to just have a small ceremony on the 17th with just parents and grandparents, his granddad wants to marry them, and then we thought a little later (maybe a couple of weeks or so) we will have a reception and party for anyone that might want to come and of course anyone that wants to come will be more than welcomed...as soon as I know something a little more definite I will let everyone know!! We are very happy, blessed and thankful that Maggie has found such a wonderful man to marry and share her life with....He is so good to her and Boston and we just think the world of him....

Eletia, I too wanted to say that I will be thinking of you tomorrow and praying that your surgery is a success....We love you and hope you have a speedy recovery!!

Well that's all folks!! for now....
love,
kittie
First of all, Congrats to Kraig and Maggie! On both the Marriage and baby! Please do invite us all to the wedding because even though you moved it up we would like to be there. Kittie, Betsy and I will keep your family in our prayers. I know that you are very excited and yet you are loosing Boston out of your home. Just think of the great job that Big Mommy and Pappy have done with him. Maw better get her little machines a going with those quilts! Just kidding Maw. We made it out of the first trimester over here and have a Dr. appointment friday to hear the heartbeart. We are very excited and cant wait. "Lord, you are an awesome God and the many blessing and challenges you have given us we praise in your name. Be there for the Hamersley family and give them comfort and strength to go through these growing pains. Lord, you are a perfect father to us and I know that you will not let us down while we praise your name. Thank you for this wonderful family that you have blessed us with and Lord let us not only pray for our family and friends, but for our enemies as well. In Jesus name, Amen!"

Love Jared
Hey Family
Wow, Kittie and Gary's news has broke! Kittie you ask for prayers for the kids, we need to include you and Pappy in that list too. I for one can certainly relate to your feelings. Empty nest will hit you, yet again and even if all the reasons sound good, you will not feel better about it all for a long time, I know, been there, done that, etc. Eletia, I wanted to touch base with you today to let you know I am certainly thinking of you as your surgery day is tomorrow. Praying that all goes well and things will not be too tough for you. Please someone out there, Mike, Blair, Jared, April, someone call me tomorrow and let me know how things are, please.
Back to Kittie's news, looks like I will be planning 2 baby quilts now, just wait for the time when we know if it is boy or girl. Our family is truly blessed with babies popping out all over. I love it!!!! If you haven't yet, check out Brock's new pic on his knees with hands clasp together, so sweet. Got to get to work, Love, Maw

Monday, August 6, 2007

Hey,

Its me....wow....I don't even really know where to begin....I have had an extremely crazy past few days!! It has certainly been mixed with every emotion I have ever thought about having....
First of all last Monday Maggie and Boston told us that Boston was ready to move to Lubbock and be with his mommy and Kraig....Even though I knew this day was coming it has been very difficult....He has basically lived with us his whole life and especially the past 6 years....I feel like my 9 year old is moving away from home...I know it is time and the right thing for him and Maggie, but it sure is hard on Big Mommy and Pappy....So as we began to let all of that soak in....Saturday Maggie and Kraig come over for supper and after we eat and are sitting around talking they tell us that they have decided to go ahead and get married....BECAUSE there is a "BABY" on the way....they just found this out on Tuesday after Maggie had told about Boston's plans to move...I have to say this, with having a child like Maggie there is NEVER a dull moment...hahaha....The baby was not planned because they really wanted to wait until spring to get married but I guess Maggie was gone too long to Paris and well things happen!!!!! Anyway to make a long story short...Boston is moving out, Maggie and Kraig are getting married and there will be yet another addition to the family in April!!!! Life is wonderful....and no I am not being sarcastic....Life is wonderful....And so you see my emotions have been on a huge roller coaster ride this past week...I know everything is working out the way it is suppose to...I just don't know what I am going to do without My BOY in the house everyday....that is the hard part for me...it will be quite an adjustment but I will survive...I think...So everyone please keep Maggie, Kraig and Boston in your prayers....
love to all,
kittie

Hey Family
Blair that cartoon must be of you, right?? I loved it, I laughed and laughed at it, how cute is that? We had a really big rain yesterday about 4:00 PM and the hwy flooded as usual around the DQ. I got really wet trying to get to my van to back it up before the water got in it. J W said he knew I was really sweet but he did not think I would melt, yeah. Sure hoping everyone has a great weekend. I am so near finishing the Artie dress quilt I am working on that I am sure I can do that this weekend. OK family, get on line and let us know what you are doing.Love, Maw

Hey Family
Thanks Jared for the address, I did not have that one..Hope Betsy is doing good as well as you and the "little one". Blair, that story is unreal about the bearded dragon. I guess I do not really know what they are but it is something they lived that long! I know about the snake thing and Ryan's finally died a few months ago so of that I am glad. Jason left yesterday to go back home. Him and Ryan had a really good visit. Eletia, we certainly will be thinking of you next week and pray everything goes as planned. Sorry about the house deal Blair. Maybe another good one will turn up that will be even better. Are April and Zac still looking?? Sure would like to see Caden and Toby soon. Hoping Shavonne is feeling better by now too. Guess Stormy is getting over her toncil deal but Brandon said he and Jill had something too, allergies, head colds or just "West Texas" stuff. They seem to be working hard with their car wash stuff when they are home from their regular jobs. The town has really been quite and business slow this summer. Hope it picks up when school starts. The hospital has laid off several people, in all areas, nursing, housekeeping, office, etc. They do not have enough patients to support the staff they had. One day, they only had one patient so they sent part of the staff home. I bet that patient got the full load. Sure would hate for us to lose the hospital. Downtown changes, Melonie Snodgrass left the chamber and went back to Tom Brian's office. Rhonda Thornhill left Appraisal Dist and Susie Justus is now working there. Brenda Davis is now working at the Chamber Office. Her and Steve are living with his mom, Virginia. I lost my office help, she moved to Snyder so now I am alone and Terry is not going to fill the job again. Got to see both Megan (Sunday night) and Maggie (Monday night) and they say they are doing good. Frank Mullins told me he only had one wrecker call last month. He said the cops have stopped arresting anyone so he does not have any impounds. Ha. Kittie is mowing our grass for us every week so we don't have to pay Percy $45.00 to do it. J W is trying to keep her in tomatoes from his garden. Not much payback, right? She is a jewel and a whiz. Guess I better get back to work.Love to all.Maw
Hey Maw, my address is 429 Emerald Creek, Ft. Worth, Tx 76131.
