Wow, Dad blogged, Shavonne blogged and I have to say that the blogs are going great. I live by the same principle as what my dad said about Papa Dalmer treating your fellow man right and you will be okay. I truly believe that by just being baptized in a church doesn't make you saved or not, for Jesus lives in all of our hearts and we all have good to give. Papa Dalmer definitely gave that. Also everyone else in the family does that as well. I am so proud of my Dad too. He works hard and always puts his family first as well as my mother. I am so blessed to have such loving, awesome parents and also my siblings their spouses, Jay, and all my family is the BEST!! I mean that. Maw, you have alway been such a strong person and have always been there!!
Okay, since we were talking about Papa Dalmer, I want to add something. Papa Dalmer truly loved all of us very very much!! As a 6 year old boy losing him was really tough. I can't believe on February 8th, that it marked he has been gone for 25 years now. He was my buddy and everyday was a new adventure. From Halloween, to Christmas to just everyday. To this day, the smell of Carnation creamer coffee makes me think to being with Maw and Papa Dalmer on a Saturday morning and watching Saturday morning cartoons. Maw would make me a bread with butter and sugar. MMMM!! Also, Papa Dalmer would make me obstacle courses and fun things in the yard to do and then after I did it, he and I would help Jill and Jared do it. It was fun. His passion, patience and love for us grandkids was WOW!!! Also, I remember Maw pitching a ball to me, Jared and Jill while Papa Dalmer showed us how to bat. That was fun. Well I actually tried to bat and then he helped Jill and Jared with the motions.
I truly feel the reason he closed himself in was because he was a very strong person and wanted to be strong for his family. I mean think about it, he was 48 and young and had lots of life. But as we all know, he was full of life!!! I can recall Dad, Gary Lee and I think Kittie did too about turning 48. It was huge for all you I bet. But you got through that and are taking care of yourselves.
Also, when Papa Dalmer shut himself out, I guess, I really feel blessed along with Jill, Jared and April. I will tell you that Papa Dalmer literally help make me, Jill, Jared and April's early childhood wonderful. I know always felt like everyday with him was better than any Disneyworld trip. I saw a side of Papa Dalmer during his last days that were unbelievably awesome. So I hope that everyone knows that he loved all of you very very much. I know ya'll might be thinking, how could you remember so much at 6. Just believe me. I remember vividly!! Love, Bear Bear
